Need a website for your business? It’s really easier than you think and I’m here to help you.
You’ll need three main ingredients to get your website up and running:
1. You need a domain name.
2. You need a web host.
3. You need a content management system.
There are tons of options for each of these, but I’m all about keeping things simple. I recommend getting all three of these things from the same place so you don’t have to worry about multiple passwords.
You can get everything you need from GoDaddy.com all for under $100 depending on your hosting needs and the length of your hosting terms. It’s generally cheaper if you pay for one or two years in advance as opposed to monthly. If this is your first website, you can get a free domain with the purchase of a one-year hosting plan through GoDaddy.
Once you’ve got a domain and web host, you can use GoDaddy’s awesome customer support services to get the two linked together. From there, the next step is to install your preferred content management system. I generally recommend WordPress because it’s more robust that some of the other do-it-yourself options out there in terms of functionality, especially if you have plans to grow.
Once you’ve got WordPress installed, you can choose a theme, add content and start customizing your website to your liking.
